The lecture presents perspectives on mental health. It explains, with examples, that mental health, which is used interchangeably with the term 'emotional well-being', is everybody's concern.  Emotional well-being is integrated to health and is the foundation for well-being and effective functioning for individuals and populations. This lecture by Dr Basseer A. Jeeawody, founding president of Emotional Well Being Institute, was delivered at the Open University, Reduit in Mauritius, in 2004.

public lecture at mahatma gandhi institute, Moka, mauritius

This workshop deliberates on the need for governments to address the emotional well-being conditions of their population as a public health concern.

An interview with Rooma Bissessur, a certified leadership coach and speaker with the John Maxwell Team. The interview highlights the need to develop a positive mental attitude for personal growth. Life presents itself in both negative and positive ways, and at any moment we face the need to change our environment in order to grow.  Real growth starts with an individual’s inclination towards positive choices that influence one’s environment for growth.  Such choices come with a deeper understanding of one’s environment, improved self-awareness, surrounding one’s self with supportive people, focusing on the moment and continually challenging oneself.  The discussion advocates for a positive mental state for exponential growth in both certain and uncertain environments.

This is a song about friendship, life, nature and love. It calls for human beings to connect with their authentic selves and to celebrate their true friends.  It was initially a poem which I wrote and sang to my friend, Paco, who is a musician, lyricist and film-maker. He proposed that it becomes a song and titled it I Want To Go To The Sea: The High Priestess. Paco composed the music and produced the video. We hope this video reaches out to as many hearts as possible.
